“Soul Surfer” – The Next Blockbuster?

The highly anticipated Soul Surfer, a film about Kauai Shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton comes to theaters on April 8th. While many surf veterans were hesitant about the film as Hollywood is renowned for butchering real stories in the hopes for a box office hit, I was surprised at the amount of people that have seen the movie and are raving about it.
Soul Surfer tells the true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds to become a champion again, through the love of her family, her sheer determination and unwavering faith. The film features Anna Sophia Robb and Helen Hunt, with Carrie Underwood in her film debut, and Dennis Quaid.
What do you guys think? Blockbuster? or Box office flop? I’m rooting for Bethany!
